Team Nigeria Returns With 13 medals As Paralympic Games End
September 10, 2012 | Beegists 1Team Nigeria definitely did us proud at the just concluded Paralympics Games.
The athletes dominated in powerlifting, where they won 12 medals – 6 gold, 5 silver and 1 bronze. The final medal, was a bronze medal picked up by Iyiazi Esther, in the Women’s shot put yesterday. Yakubu Adesokan, Esther Oyema, Joy Onaolapo and Folashade Oluwafemiayo, also set new world records, on their way to winning medals in powerlifting.
Very very impressive. I hope the other athletes emulate them and put up a worthy performance at the next Olympics in Brazil.
More Missing Athletes From The Olympics
August 13, 2012 | BeegistsIt has been reported that a Congolese athlete and a handful of coaches have gone missing since this weekend.
The athlete in question is Cedric Mandembo, who lost his only judo match in 49 seconds to Russian Alexander Mikhaylin in the 100 kg category, disappeared shortly after Sunday’s closing ceremony and was not answering his mobile phone.
The coaches are Judo coach Ibula Masengo, boxing trainer Blaise Bekwa, and national technical director of athletics Guy Nkita. They actually left with their luggage.
These are in addtion to the seven Cameroon athletes which are unaccounted for.
The London Olympic organising committee said it had notified British police about the missing Cameroonians, but added that the athletes would not be infringing immigration laws until their visas expired in November.
At least for once, Nigerians are not in this category.

The Spice Girls Performs At The Olympics Closing Ceremony
August 13, 2012 | BeegistsOne of the most anticipated show this year has been the Spice Girls performance at the closing ceremony of the Olympics. Its been talked about so much because nobody knew what to expect from them.
They definitely didn’t disappoint and lived up to all the hype. They performed their hit song Spice Up Your Life.
It was more or less like the high point of the night because even the British Prime Minister, David Cameron, was seen moving to their song.
Unfortunately, it was gathered that this might be their last time performing together.
People Sha!!!
August 10, 2012 | BeegistsMust you always talk if you don’t know? When Oga Bolt turn woman or Nigerian or even go BBA? lol. Olu Phemmy, please see Usain Bolt’s picture below o so that this won’t happen again next time…i laugh.
By the way, the guy still retained his title last night. I can’t wait for someone to beat this guy & his records. Did you watch the race? The guy even slowed down towards the end of the race. Guess his response? He claimed there was no point running so fast again since he couldn’t beat his previous records. Imagine that, such a proud guy. Jamaica must be very proud right now sha. As for Nigeria, i am still hopeful even if its just 1 bronze.
Witches And Wizards Blamed For Blessing Okagbare’s Poor Performance At The Olympics
August 7, 2012 | Beegists 1These people have started again. They said that our Olympics misfortune is as a result of Witches and Wizards.
This is how it was reported by Daily Post
Nigerians in Diaspora are yet to come to terms with the shocking display of speedster, Blessing Okagbare that some have blamed spiritual forces for her disappointing race. Blessing placed 8th in a pack of high-profile athletes, some she had beaten before.
Mother of one of Team Nigeria’s athlete, Mrs Glory Udoh who came to the Olympic Village yesterday said that it was so glaring that spiritual forces were against the Nigerian. ‘’We wept openly yesterday. You could see her struggling to get off the block. But they have failed, because God has taken supremacy and control of Team Nigeria’s activities. Her name is a blessing, and God has blessed her that no evil forces will stand on the way of the team, again.
Mrs Udoh who flew all the way from Houston to London to be with her daughter said that Team Nigeria will surprise many in their remaining events. ‘’God has opened the floodgates for His children to arise and shine. Team Nigeria shall move and nothing will stand on their way again’’, she preached.
What won’t we hear?

‘I said it on the track, people can talk, all they can do is talk. When it comes to championships I bring it.
‘I knew the crowd would be like this, I can feel that energy and I am extremely happy.’
